Pad the hoof

Ir a pie. Government House is quite near here, let's pad the hoof: La Casa de Gobierno está muy carca de aquí, vayamos a pie.

Me costó encontrar esta expresión. Quizás sea muy vieja. Lo más cercano que hallé fue en Dictionary.com : hoof: to walk (often fol. by it): Let's hoof it to the supermarket.

BTW, hoof quiere decir "Pezuña" y pad "Acolchar". Raro, ¿no?
