At stake

La siguiente frase puede resultar aburrida y técnica, pero tiene una expresión que desconocía: "When the profitability of an entire process is at stake, it is important that the customer has a partner that can be relied on to meet the highly complex demands associated with modern industrial separation." At stake quiere decir "estar en juego"

Dictionary.com dice que significa: "in danger of being lost, as something that has been wagered; critically involved."

También tiene otro significado: "en cuestión": There is more at stake than your modesty.
