Carry the day

Esta expresión se refiere a una idea o acción que es la más valiosa, exitosa e interesante que fue propuesta durante un día.

• Her argument in favour of pay increases eventually carried the day.
• Just once I would like to come up with a plan that would carry the day.

También quiere decir ganar una guerra o una batalla, como nos dice Cambridge:
"At the beginning of the American Civil War, many southerners believed their soldiers and statesmen would carry the day."

Blogs: En este blog que habla sobre empresas, me topé con la siguiente frase: "But the thought that seemed to carry the day was the potential power of both existing utility infrastructures and new ones."
